“Chaguanas Old Boys Making Good on their Promise”
In keeping with their oath as ‘OLD BOY’s”, former pupils of Chaguanas Senior Comprehensive now Chaguanas North Secondary School (CNSS), cleaned an archaic room between the Block E and Farm of the CNSS.
On Sunday 8th September, 2019 the members of the Chaguanas Old Boys Football Club mainly students of the graduating class of 2002, took time to clean and empty the room filled with Derelict furniture and other useless items. This room proved to be a burden on the students of the school as vermin and other unwanted pests sought refuge in the less than favourable space.
Establishing a clear link between cleanliness and student performance, this display of commitment is sure to improve the performance of CNSS students in some area of development. Even supported by studies, cited by Canadian school review, is a study of young students in Virginia that found almost a 3% difference in math scores among third graders who had more frequently cleaned classrooms. There was a similar difference in English test scores as well.
This act of generosity, comes on the heels of donations and other charitable events held by the former students the Old Boys Football Club continues to exhibition their commitment to the current students of the CNSS and the Legacy of Chaguanas Senior Comprehensive.
