Greek philosopher and polymath, Aristotle said “The unfortunate need people who will be kind to them; the prosperous need people to be kind to.” When one gives it does not only benefit the receiver and less fortunate but it is also beneficial to the giver. As the less fortunate may benefit materialistically so too do the more fortunate gain in their humanity and morality.
This harmonious relationship between giver and receiver was on full display at the Chaguanas Old Boys Charity Event “Attitude Gratitude” on November 30th 2019. At the event hosted by past students of Chaguanas North Secondary (formerly Chaguanas Senior Comprehensive), patrons rallied to ensure the less fortunate had a little extra in their baskets this Christmas Season.
Scores of non-perishable items and bags of food stuff were all donated as a result of the kindness of patrons on the event night, which was then added to those collected by the Teaching Staff and Kids of the school. Distributions during the school hours was piloted by both Vp’s Ms C. Ramadhar and Ms J. Eligon as they ensured all contributions were then bagged and distributed by a committee comprised of Local School Board, Student Council and Teaching Staff.
On behalf of the Chaguanas Senior Comp. Old Boys, thank you to all who supported and we look forward to your continued support and charity in 2020!
Great Teamwork!
